People budget for the balloon and are surprised by the gas. Here is the whole picture before you commit.
Cost one: the balloon, once
The headline number, and the only one that is a single payment. A 15-foot blimp is $1,258 blank, an 18-foot $1,813, a 21-foot $2,561.
Spheres run from $301 for a 4.5-foot to $2,427 for a 14-foot.
Cost two: lettering, once
Separate, and it scales with print area. $615 on a 15-foot blimp, $657 on an 18, $664 on a 21.
Extra colours are $109 each covering both sides. A different message on the second side is $125. Letters over thirteen per side are $6.50 each.
Plenty of buyers skip lettering entirely, particularly for event use.
Cost three: shipping, once
Quoted with your order, because it depends on size and destination. UPS Ground from North Carolina, two to five business days.
Be realistic: a 30-foot blimp does not ship for the same money as a 5.5-foot sphere. Ask for the shipped total rather than the item price.
Cost four: helium, forever
This is the one that decides whether you were right.
At about $1.50 per cubic foot, a 15-foot blimp fills for roughly $380 and an 18-foot for roughly $495. You then lose about one percent a day, so plan a top-off every three to seven flying days.
Multiply that by how often you actually intend to fly it. A balloon flown ten weekends a year costs very little to run. One flown daily is a standing monthly expense.
